President/Director of Music

11 September 2007

Dear Everyone

It’s countdown now. Only a little over a fortnight to go!

Mark Walton has arranged the most fabulous Music program for the weekend. There’s hardly a minute without music the whole weekend. Make sure you check the Events and People tabs on this site for lots of detailed information.

Also, there’s a great opportunity to join in workshops in the week before, so if it’s at all possible why not come a bit earlier and start your stay at a more relaxed pace.

We’ve tried to make your visits to each of the venues as comfortable as possible with shade and seating. As of yet, the flies haven’t arrived but we’re expecting them any day but hope they’ll stay in Moree for the weekend.

Don’t forget that your digital mobile will not work at Mungindi. We’re publishing a Mungindi Survival Guide that has all the information; shop opening times, where you can eat, maps etc that you’ll need for the weekend. Make sure you pick one up at any of the venues or in the main street on Friday afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing you

President

From the Director of Music

G’day Everyone,

For those of you who were at the 2005 Mungindi Music Festival you know that what you are all about to experience is not just a Music Festival.

The word Mungindi has many meanings.

Mungindi means a place where the impossible happens.

Mungindi is an ancient word that means strong friendships and much laughter.

Mungindi is an Australian word for inspiration.

Mungindi also means great patience at all times. Our team of volunteer organisers has been preparing for the past two years to ensure that your visit to Mungindi is truly wonderful. They will be on hand to help you and to make certain everything runs as smoothly as possible.

A more contemporary meaning of the word Mungindi is - if you are a musician bring a music stand and clothes pegs, a hat and sun block.

I can’t wait to see you in Mungindi.

Cheers

Mark Walton
Festival Director

The third Mungindi Music Festival will be on the first weekend in October 2009!
