Program of Events 

The weekend will be once again packed with a full musical program beginning on Friday 28th Sept 2007 and finishing on Sunday evening.

Friday 28th September 2007

9.00am - Street music, open rehearsals and busking, St George Street - FREE - completed!

12.00 - 5.00pm - Barwon River Boogie, Barwon River Park St George Street - FREE - completed!!

7.30 - 10.00pm - Mungindi Magic Launch Concert, Mungindi Town Hall, St George Street. (seating limited to 400 people). Featuring Don Burrows and Kevin Hunt, Mark Walton, Sax in the City, Taurus, Phil Garland  Bated Breath and toe tapping street music after the show. A fantastic success, fabulous music and lots of fun!! - completed!!

                   

Saturday 29th September 2007

6.00 - 9.00am - Sunrise Let the Piano Play Concert, Barwon River Park St George Street - FREE. Come along and sing and play with some of Australia's top piano players. Completed!!

9.00 - 10.15am - Festival Choir and Orchestra rehearsals at the Showground - completed!!

10.30 - 11.00am - Parade Muster in the Sheep Shed - completed!!

11.00am - Festival Parade and Official Opening of the Festival and presentation of musicians and the lighting of the Cauldron, Mungindi Showground - completed!!

           

12noon - 1.00pm - Concerts in four venues around the Showground featuring Cafe Latte, Phil Garland, Bassoonery, Loreto Normanhurst/St Leos' Band, Thallon Band, U3A Choir, Quadraphonic to name just a few of the artists - completed!!

1.00pm - Mungindi Dog Jumps and Quadraphonic at the Photo Finish - completed!!!

1.30 -  2.30pm - Concerts in four venues around the Showground featuring the Coonabarabran Orbital Swing Band, Ryan Sampson, Strings Attached, Taurus, Brassed Off, Histoire de Tango and many others - completed!!

2.30 - 3.00pm - Musical Woodchop - Mungindi's top axemen attempt to set a musical record accompanied by the Windjamers and Cafe Latte. Bassoonery will be performing at the Photo Finish - completed!!

3.00 - 4.00pm - Toddlers Proms, interactive workshop for children aged 2-7 years, conducted by the Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonic conducted by the amazing Brian Buggy. Children will be free to this event, however accompanying adults will be the price of a Saturday Day Ticket. Simultaneously there will be three other concerts taking place around the Mungindi Showground including Dizzy Fingers with Kevin Hunt, the Amazing Howies, Matt Dempsey and Mark Walton - completed!!

                          

4.00 - 4 30pm - The Great Mungindi Gumboot Toss - search for the 2007 Mungindi Tosser with Ian Greenland at the Photo Finish - completed.

4.30 - 5 30pm - Concerts in Four Venues including The Johnny Cash and June Carter Show with Michael and Vanessa Varecka and Hotting Up with Sax from the City, the Windjammers, Springs & Brassed Off to name a few - completed.

5.30 - 6.15pm - Mungindi 5 30 Sheep Shearing at the Race Track with Jigsaw at the Photo Finish Box - completed.

6.15 - 8.15pm - Sunset at the Showground featuring Don Burrows with the Sydney Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the Loreto Normanhurst/St Leo's Concert Band , Mungindi Showground - completed.

7.45pm - Lets Dance with Taurus Rock and Roll with a touch of Country Pavillion Marquee - completed.

8.45pm onwards - Nucleus LIVE in Concert - completed.

Sunday 30th September 2007

The Festival moves to the extraordinary setting of an enormous wheat field on the "Yarrawa" property where there will be a three very different concerts.

                            

10.00am - 11.45pm - "Yarrawa" Concert in the Wheat, Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonicand many other fine artists, Carnarvon Highway, Mungindi - completed.

12.00 - 2.00pm - Lunch served under the shady trees and amazing display of acgricultural machinery - completed.

12.00 - 1.15pm - Mungindi Idol search for the 2007 Mungindi Idol. Come and sing with Taurus either by yourself or with a group of friends. The winner will sing at the Final Concert where they will be presented with the key to the city - completed.

2.00 - 3.30pm - Shake Rattle & Roll will keep you entertained featuring Fast & Loud, Sax from the City, Don Burrows, The Verecka's, Ryam Sampson and many, many more - completed.

Sadly then "Yarrawa" will come to an end, but if you are up for more the best will still be to come....

6.00pm - Will see us kick off the Grand Finale at the Barwon River Crossing Park in Queensland and the world premier of Mungindi Mosaic - an original piece written just for Mungindi by Brian Buggy and performed by local and national artists including the Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonic. Along with many other artists and performers it will be the festivals final swan song after a great weekend of music ~ surely an event not to be missed!! - Completed.

                                 


The third Mungindi Music Festival will be on the first weekend in October 2009!
